Mobile Temperature Logging
Many Thermochron iButton applications demand the ability to read and mission iButtons in the field, iConnection and SD Windows mobile software make that possible
Applications:
Biology/Field Research, Cold Chain/Food Transportation, Poultry Industry
Benefits:
Highly mobile solution, compatible with Windows Mobile handheld devices
Mobile Temperature Logging
Scanning Devices iConnection and Mobile Temperature Logging System works with Dallas Semiconductor Thermochron iButtons to provide a highly portable solution for reading and missioning iButtons in the field. By using a Windows Mobile compatible handheld device you can collect, display, analyze, and archive temperature data in real time without carrying a heavy laptop.
Thermochron iButtons are small, industrially packaged sensors, well suited for installation in a fixed location to monitor and log temperature at that point, or, can be packaged and shipped with goods to monitor temperature in transit. Thermochron iButtons provide a wide range of programmable options that specify how and when temperature measurements are made and how results are reported.
The Scanning Devices Windows Mobile iConnection is a blue tooth compatible device that can read from, and write to, any Thermochron or Hydrochron iButton. Simply turn on the iConnection, touch the probe to the iButton in question and data is loaded to the iConnection device. Using Bluetooth you can then transfer that data to any Windows Mobile Compatible Handheld device running Scanning Devices Mobile Temperature Logging Software. You can view, graph and then re-mission the Thermochron iButton for re-deployment in the field.
The Scanning Devices Mobile Temperature Logging Software allows the monitoring of status and progress, retrieving and displaying of temperature data, graphing of temperature data, and saving of readings in the handheld. The database also stores preferences for iButton setup options to insure that the iButton is performing as planned. The Handheld application uses a Setup Wizard, a series of screens that capture information necessary to start measurement and logging. The Handheld or PC calendar is used as well, to start logging at a specific date and time, report when it is going to end, or even coordinate multiple iButtons so that they will all start at the same time.
Finally, hot-sync/active-sync the Handheld to move or copy temperature data from the Handheld database to a Windows PC. Use the PC application to do more: display temperature data graphically or in tabular form, file it, format it for spreadsheets, email or even generate web pages.
